ELMAR seminar and demo boats workshop “Electric driven ships and technologies, ships and boats retrofit possibilities”, Klaipeda (LT), 3 December 2019

The meeting was opened by the representative of Klaipeda University, Mr. Vasilij Djackov, who also presented the findings of the report “Sales and supplier market analysis in Lithuania”.

The presentation was followed by the discussion concerning the need for the quick charging stations, which were identified as a condition for further development of the electric water mobility. Important point of the discussion concerned lack of the hight-voltage grid to supply power to the charging station.  A feasible solution to the problem could be the batteries integrated into the charging infrastructure.

Mr. Daniel Dörflinger, representing IPT Technology GmbH, presented wireless power transfer technology – wireless charging systems capable of charging all types of vehicles, including cars and buses, ships, robots and material handling equipment. Special attention was given to application of the wireless charging system on ships.

Dr. Frank Diehl representing EAS Batteries, presented the technology of EASy Marine batteries.

Mr. Audrius Senulis presented “Dancer bus” - a project by JSC Vėjo projektai that aims to create a new generation of electric driven city buses.

Mr. Evaldas Narušis provided short photo and video demonstration of PAX boat retrofit process followed by demonstrations of battery management system and boat refitting works.

All presentations were followed by questions and discussions on the topics related to electric mobility on water and related technologies.
